In recognition of Fair Housing Month this April, the North Central Board of Realtors® joins Mayor Adams and the Mountain Home community in celebrating equal access to housing for all.
Following Mayor Adams proclamation declaring April as Fair Housing Month, the North Central Board reaffirms its commitment to upholding the Fair Housing Act and ensuring a fair and inclusive housing market in Mountain Home.
“The North Central Board of Realtors® represents a group of professionals who believe everyone deserves a chance to find their dream home,” says Telicia Wade Perry, President of the North Central Board of Realtors®. “This Fair Housing Month, we recommit ourselves to providing our members with the resources and education they need to advocate for fair housing practices and empower clients of all backgrounds throughout the buying or selling process.”
The Fair Housing Act protects individuals from discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, and disability. The North Central Board of Realtors encourages anyone who believes they have experienced housing discrimination to contact the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) at 1-800-669-7773 or https://www.hud.gov/.
The North Central Board of Realtors offers the following resources to promote fair housing practices:
- Educational workshops for members on Fair Housing Laws.
- Client handouts outlining fair housing rights and responsibilities.
- A commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion within the realtor community.
Working together, the North Central Board of Realtors® and the Mountain Home community can create a more inclusive housing market where everyone has the opportunity to achieve the dream of homeownership.
