Committees

If you’d like to become a part of your association, there’s no better way to start by becoming active in a North Central Board of REALTORS® committee. Generally, your time commitment is about an hour every other month and the benefits are endless.

When you volunteer to participate in the Association’s decision-making work, you contribute to the Arkansas real estate industry, build valuable contacts and information and skills for your business success. Listed below are our committees and a brief description of their responsibilities.

ARPAC - Realtor party

This committee helps to educate NCBOR members on the benefits and importance of the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC). It encourages members to donate, coordinates fundraising events, and attends local & state political events and activities.

Berevement

This committee contacts REALTORS® who have lost immediate family members and offer compassion.

Education/quarterly meeting

This committee provides & promotes professional development and educational programs as well as opportunities that serve to keep the members abreast of changes in the industry. They coordinate continuing education course with quality instructors and incorporate, publicize, and support ARA & NAR professional development and educational programs.

awards for excellence

This committe reviews and confirms entries for Awards for Excellence and prepares them for submission to ARA. The committee meets one time a year.

mls breakfast

Plan & coordinate Annual MLS Breakfast. This event always takes place the first Thursday of December at East Side Baptist Church. Responsibilities include securing Affiliate sponsors, setting up and tearing down the tables/chairs. Meets as needed leading up to the event.

fishing derby

Plan and coordinate fishing derby for Special Olympics.

Feed our children

Plans and coordinates the annual Feed Our Children event for November in conjunction with the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas.

Golf Tournament

Plan and coordinate annual golf tournament which supports Special Olympics. Gather hole sponsors, food & drink sponsors, and special hole sponsors from our Affiliates. The golf tournament typically takes place in June. Committee starts meeting in April and meets as needed.

Nominating Commitee

Develops a slate of candidates to fill vacancies on the Board of Directors that will be voted on by the General Membership.

Scholarship

Each year, NCBOR gives out scholarships to deserving students. The Scholarship Committee accepts, reviews, and awards the scholarships each year. The committee also plans fundraising events to cover the costs of the scholarships.

Realtor® of the year

Responsible for reviewing ROY applications, selecting the ROY, and forwarding information to ARA. Committee meets once a year.

accounting

Reviews and sets guidelines for the annual budget that is in then considered by the Board of Directors.

strategic plan

Establishes goals and objectives for the North Central Board of REALTORS®.

bylaws/Membership

Reviews the Board bylaws and Rules & Regulations with those suggested by the National Association of REALTORS® and the Arkansas REALTORS® Association. This committee makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding any changes as they become necessary.

building & grounds

Once a year clean up the landscaping, gutters, and windows at the NCBOR office.

public relations

This committee helps in the promotion of the North Central Board of REALTORS. This includes projects such as website re-design/updates, social media posts and press releases to the media.
